Vittorio has spent the last 20 years working at the Villa San Michele, passing his passion for wine, gastronomy and refined cuisine to every guest. Everyone is enchanted by his a constant smile and attention to detail.
Vittorio’s career began in 1970 at the Hotel Excelsior at the Lido of Venice, and developed afterwards at Hotel Suvretta in St Moritz, Düsseldorf, the Savoy in London and again in Venice before joining our team as Maitre d’Hotel in 1986.
The great passion for his job and discovering the secrets of gastronomy and refined cuisine, together with his deep knowledge of enology - he is a great wine expert indeed - have in time made him highly deserving of his position as our Food and Beverage Manager. The secret of his success may be seen in his relationship with our guests, who trust in Vittorio to advise on the best food accompanied by wines which exalt both taste and pleasure.
Among the most likeable anecdotes is that of Roberto Benigni. During a stay of one month at Villa San Michele, the comedian went to the kitchen every morning to have the chef properly cook 'l’ovetto fresco', that is eggs, delivered daily by his mother Elide.
