Villa San Michele

Introduction

Florence is the capital city of the Italian region of Tuscany.

The city lies on the Arno River and is known for its history and its importance in the Middle Ages and in the Renaissance, especially for its art and architecture.

The historic centre of Florence was declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO in 1982.

The city is one of Italy's most atmospheric and pleasant, its striking buildings, formidable galleries and treasure-crammed churches combine to acheive a wonderful ambience of history.

Florence's elegant appearance: its skyline, all russet rooftops and lofty domes, are all very picturesque. It's popularity is unsurprising, attracting as it does tourists from across the globe.
