Wines & Oil

Established in 1975, the Capannelle Vineyard became quickly recognised by connoisseurs for the exceptional quality of its wines, as well as its innovative growing and blending techniques.

The wines and olive oil are made from grapes and olive trees grown on the Capannelle estate, and are cultivated without use of chemical fertilisers or insecticides.

Judicious pruning ensures high-quality fruit. The wine-making process, from harvest through to bottling, is carried out in a controlled temperature, while fermentation takes place under refrigeration to avoid excessive heat build-up.

Capannelle has always invested in the most advanced wine-making technology.  Stainless-steel vats, pipes and valves are used throughout, except for the ageing part of the process, when wood is used. Stainless-steel piping is used to transfer the wine from vats to casks.  Even the drains are made of stainless steel.

Barrels are made of French Massif Central oak. Only wine held in them for two years can be labelled “barrique”.

The bottling area is covered in shockproof ceramic.  After maturing in wood, the wine is bottled for further ageing in glass-panelled bins under controlled temperatures.

What all this love and care produces is two spectacular wines, found on the most exclusive wine lists around the world. These are Capannelle Chardonnay, a white wine to rival the greatest Burgundies, and Capannelle Solare, a vintage red aged in barrels. Both are served in the bars and dining rooms of such establishments as the Hotel Cipriani in Venice, the Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro, “21” in New York and Harry’s Bar in London.
